The Eden of the West
Glen Eden is located in West Auckland, less than half an hour away from Auckland’s CBD.
The area has deep roots within its local community. The Green on Woodglen will be built on the former site of the Don Oliver Family Fitness Centre, established in 1975 and the first gym in West Auckland. It was founded and named after Don Oliver (1937-1996), a New Zealand Olympian and Commonwealth silver and gold medalist in weightlifting. Don’s family home was also on the site.
Don was an active member of the community, serving as a mentor to many great New Zealand athletes, as a deacon of Glen Eden Baptist Church, working as a butcher by trade, and opening a number of gyms in Auckland that provided community hubs for neighbours and families to enjoy.
The Green on Woodglen aims to continue this proud community spirit for the next generation of families.
